Directory Robert Altman Dead! November 21, 2006
Posted by Phillip in : geek , add a commentJust saw this on digg:
LOS ANGELES - Robert Altman, the caustic and irreverent satirist behind “M*A*S*H,” “Nashville” and “The Player” who made a career out of bucking Hollywood management and story conventions, died at a Los Angeles Hospital, his Sandcastle 5 Productions Company said Tuesday. He was 81.
I just rented and watched “A Prairie Home Companion” and I thought it was very well done. Robert Altman will be missed among film buffs all over.
Back in the U.S.[S.]A.
Posted by Phillip in : geek , add a commentI have been back from Paris for almost a week now and I have been lazy about posting an update. In short, the trip was pretty good. I spent the entire first day touring Paris (I will post pics soon) and the balance of the time at Novell’s Global Kickoff meeting at EuroDisney.
My laptop was stolen on day 1, so I was unable to do any blog-updating while over in frog-land. Joke is really on the thief — enjoy that 4 year old laptop buddy! HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAA. PS: please mail my glasses back to me, kthx.
Au Revoir November 9, 2006
Posted by Phillip in : geek , add a commentSitting in the Austin Airport. I’ll be boarding in about 1 hour heading to Newark where I will catch a very long flight to Paris. This is going to get interesting…
Assuming those frogs let me use their internets, I may be updating my blog from Paris.
OMG! It’s Willie-FREAKIN-Nelson
Posted by Phillip in : geek , add a commentSo I hopped up to DFW last week for a one day meeting. It wasn’t bad, I jumped on a plane in the morning and flew to DFW and then came back to Austin that same afternoon. I don’t mind the one day travels. The important part is that on my way back, none other than Willie Nelson was chillin out in first class. We exchanged nods and then I moved back to sit in coach with the rest of the non-potsmoking, non-famous scumbags.
Seriously. It was Willie Nelson. There were no braids in his hair though. It’s also worth noting that he was the only person sitting in First Class to be wearing a “trucker cap”.
An open letter to Rush October 26, 2006
Posted by Phillip in : geek , add a commentDear Rush,
You’re a dick and I’m tired of reading about you and your idiotic accusation of Michael J. Fox.
If you don’t agree with someone; argue it on an intellectual level, not an emotional one.
Warmest Regards,
Phillip

I just found out today (a month late) that I have been pseudo-published again. Previously, I was a customer of my current employer, and I wrote a gut-wrenching article on how to make a remote loader (a component of Novell’s Identity Manager) run on Debian Linux. Well folks, I have done it again. Don’t get too excited, but I wrote and submitted another riveting article, this time on using RSYNC and CRON to replace tiered electronic distribution (TED) with ZENworks Linux Management. A product I know all too well.
