new browser March 3, 2006

Major props to Cory for running this blog entry that inspired me to start using Camino. Camino is yet another web browser brought to us from the always innovating folkes at the Mozilla Project. The nice thing about Camino is that it was developed especially for Mac users in mind. It seems to take the best features of Firefox and Safari and roll them up into once really nice looking browser.

One feature that Cory mentioned is the ability to store passwords in Mac’s Keychain, to be honest, I didn’t really think I would care where I saved my passwords at first. But after having to re-save them all (switching from Firefox -> Camino), I realized that had my other browser integrated into Keychain, I would not be doing this. There are some other cool looking features too, but I have already noticed two featurs that Camino is lacking, foXpose being one and more search engines in the toolbar being another. The search engine thing is probably an easy fix, I just need to poke around a little more. I was digging the foXpose though (another Cory recommendation), so I hope they toss support for that in.
