bye bye sbc/att January 13, 2006
Posted by Phillip in : geek , 1 comment so farSo this is probably my last post using my DSL. I could not think of something more appropriate about which to write as I sit at my home and await the arrive of the TimeWarner technician. TimeWarner will be delivering digital cable, digital phone (yuck, I’ll get back to this in a bit), and high-speed intarweb.
iTunes madness January 11, 2006
Posted by Phillip in : misc , 1 comment so farSo I have probably spent a total of 4-5 hours getting all of my music in iTunes and removing all the dupes. According to iTunes, I now have 6556 songs which equates to rougly 30 GB and 17.9 days worth of unique listening. Getting rid of duplicate songs seems to be the biggest pain in the butt thusfar. I was really getting aggrivated as I was going down the list selecting songs one-by-one. But as I kept going through the list, I realized that there were quite a few false positives. So in the end I am thankful that there is not some automagic way of removing songs identified as “duplicates”. I will point out that if you happen to accidently click a song without holding down the CTRL key, you will have to start over. :(
The Family Stone January 9, 2006
Posted by Phillip in : misc , 2 commentsSo I have a serious problem with movies like this. You sit in your chair watching Law & Order and you get hit with a preview for a movie, that despite the fact that it appears to be a chick-flick, looks like it might be funny. It’s only when you get to the theatre, because you are like me and do no research on movie before you go see it, that you realize this is not some light-hearted romantic comedy. This is a drama with the occasional funny line.
Digital Fortress
Posted by Phillip in : geek , 2 commentsSo, against the advice of Darrell, I grabbed my copy of Digital Fortress off my bookshelf last week. I have been desperate for some more of Dan Brown’s writing after finishing The DaVinci Code and Angles & Demons. What can I say? He is a great writer. I just wish I had not read this one.

Posted by Phillip in : geek , 4 commentsSo I’ve been meaning to do the following with my blog:
* COMMENTARY: Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire
* COMMENTARY: The Family Stone
* My thoughts on Digital Fortress thus far.
I will get to work on these soon I hope. I am sure all 2 readers of this blog (hi heather and darrell) are on the edge of their rolly chairs.

I’ve seen horror… horror that you’ve seen. You’ve seen it all. This is just another pitiful test in your long line of degraded porn, sub culture horror movies and snuff footage. The internet to you is like an anti-Willy Wonka factory. Total abysmal horror. Rivers of filth. Ooompa Loompa porn. You’ve probably seen that Oompa Loompa porn, haven’t you? The horror… the horror… |
